Eclectic style is a mix of colors, textures, styles and traditions in one interior. Today, eclecticism is usually called anything that does not fit into the framework of a single style of the universe, but initially the meaning of eclecticism in the interior was supposed to be a mixture of Renaissance, classicism and Baroque.

The choice of color in eclecticism is limited only by the designer’s imagination. However, preference is given to more natural colors and shades. At the same time, the main color background of the room is often neutral to emphasize and highlight other bright interior items.

As a floor covering in the interior of an eclectic style, parquet is often used. For areas where a more practical floor covering is required, it is common to use tile or concrete. At the same time, to make the room cozy, you can lay a fleecy carpet that will cover most of the floor in the room. As for the walls and ceiling, they are designed as neutral as possible so as not to distract attention from the main composition, which is represented by furniture and decorative items. For finishing, wall paper is often used – plain or with a simple pattern. The ceiling can be multi-tiered, and with the advent of stretch ceilings-preference is increasingly given to a smooth, glossy surface.

Furniture

Eclecticism is a collective style. The main requirement for furniture – it must be comfortable and create an atmosphere of comfort in the room. Often preference is given to large sofas and deep armchairs with carved legs. At the same time, pieces of furniture in the same room may belong to different styles. However, in this case, when choosing furniture, you should be careful, because refined and refined eclecticism can turn into a flashy and gaudy kitsch.
